How Often to Detail Your Car in Kentucky

Summer: UV and everything that lands on the car
Heat is what kills wax and dries out interiors. Dashboards and leather take UV damage that shows up as fading and cracking years later, which is why conditioning isn't cosmetic.
Summer is also bug and bird season, and both are acidic enough to etch clear coat within days in direct sun. The rule is simple: get those off the paint quickly rather than waiting for the next wash.
Fall: the one people skip
Tree sap and falling leaves stain paint, and wet leaves left in cowl drains and door channels hold water where you don't want it.
A fall detail with fresh protection is what carries the car through winter. Sealed paint releases salt far more easily, which makes every winter wash more effective. Skipping fall is how people end up doing damage repair in spring.

Is it bad to wash a car in freezing weather?
It's better than leaving salt on it, but be sensible: wash when it's above freezing if you can, and dry door shuts and seals so they don't freeze shut. A sealed or coated car makes winter washing far quicker.
Do automatic car washes damage paint?
Brush washes are the main source of the swirl marks we spend hours polishing out. Touchless washes are safer for the finish but use stronger chemicals that strip protection quickly. A proper hand wash is easier on paint than either.
How long does interior conditioning last?
